A-Z Challenge ~ Yummy #atozchallenge
YaY!! This is the 2nd to last A to Z Challenge post!! I’ve made it!
Anyway, Yummy!! What foods do you find absolutely Yummy?
Did I mention in any of my posts that I gave up sugar, bread, snacks, junk food of any kind during the month of February and did really well? I actually lasted more than two months until last week when I went on the D.C. trip with my son. It was difficult to keep a regulated diet on a trip like that when food was sometimes preplanned. It was either eat it or starve.
But about two weeks into that Challenge, I went out to dinner with my boys and my youngest ordered a Smores dessert. It was a warm chocolate brownie with big melted marshmallows on top and some vanilla ice cream. The smell alone made my mouth water. I kept reaching my spoon over to scoop off a marshmallow and the boys (my husband included) would yell, “Don’t do it!” LOL! They were my conscious and spoke up loud and clear. I didn’t eat any of it, but I wanted to … badly!
But really with time, it got easier. At birthday parties, it was easy to pass up the cake. I began eating more healthy foods like Greek yogurt and fresh fruits. I found myself not as hungry and didn’t feel the need to snack as much. However, I didn’t really lose much weight. Only 5 lbs. Although, my clothes did begin to fit loosely. I even started walking a minimum of 4 days a week, sometimes more.
Have you ever done anything like this before? How did you do? Let me know if you’re going to try this 21 Day Challenge?
I actually eat that way most of the time, although I do have a little stash of dark chocolate sweetened with stevia instead of sugar. Like you, it hasn’t resulted in a dramatic weight loss, but I notice that I don’t have the mood/energy swings that a lot of people I know do. I think that avoiding the foods you mention keeps my blood sugar more stable.

You know, now that you mention it, I agree with the mood/energy swings. I had a more steady level of energy compared to when I just ate anything.
Um, and where does one find this dark chocolate with stevia? 🙂 That sounds like a great treat!
Thanks for stopping by!
I don’t think I could do the 21 day challenge, I love food far too much. I did do something similar over 7 days though, and that was challenge enough! Well done for lasting over 2 months, that’s some serious will power you’ve got there!
I have such a sweet tooth, I’m all about deserts and pastries. And biscuits, with tea.
Ugh, I also have such a sweet tooth. I just found out that my husband and son hid Peeps from me, since they know how much I love them and would have eaten a whole package on sight if I had found them.
LOL They were just trying to help and be nice. But I LOVE sweets, cookies, and Easter has the best marshmallow treats. YUM.
But even though it was a huge challenge, I loved the energy I felt during it. I’ll get back there and back to walking this week, hopefully. 🙂 I’m still recouping after my trip.
Thanks for stopping by!
