Review ~ Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Loved the cover. Simple is perfect for this story.
I’m sort of speechless after finishing this book. This book was a mindfuck like no other.
I’m left feeling shocked and a bit annoyed, but in this case it’s a good thing. The author wrote a story that was able to suck you in and make you feel all of these crazy feelings. For the longest while, I had no idea who did what but once it was clear Oh My God it was insane.
This author is brilliant. I have no idea how she even came up with half the shit that she wrote in that book.
The writing was descriptive and funny, almost quirky. It was written in a tone of a person who’s telling you their story in their natural voice.
I don’t normally read murder mysteries, but this was incredible. I’m a bit freaked out by it, but that was the brilliance of the story itself and her ability to make it so frickin’ psychotic. I think this book is great to put things into perspective. When someone thinks they’re a bit crazy, they can just read this and realize there are people way more crazier than them.
Great book, great author, but completely psychotic. The ending was just … well, I felt resigned. Sad for the Nick. I’d be curious to know how they end up.
I reviewed it, too, and I have a lot of the same sentiments!
LOL 😀 Crazy, right?
nice
Thanks for the review. This book keeps popping up on my Kindle recommendations but I wasn’t sure, will now give it a try 🙂
Yeah, you should. It’s an insane ride!! ;D
