Review ~ Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis

Once in a Lifetime (Lucky Harbor #9)Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first of Shalvis’s books I’ve read, and I loved it. I adore the writing style, the plot, and the characters. I even love the small, nosy town of Lucky Harbor.

Aubrey and Ben get together although neither want a relationship. Aubrey is the town “bad girl” and Ben is the town “golden boy.” Of course, no one really wanted those two to get together, and yes everyone in the town was up in their business.

The story was filled with great humor, great characterization, and a swoon worthy hero. Our heroine was pretty bad ass too. I loved her strong will but giving heart.

This was a great read and I recommend it to anyone that likes romance, Lucky Harbor, making amends, and a true Once in a Lifetime Love.

Summary:

SOMETIMES WRONG IS OH-SO-RIGHT

After a wrenching loss, Ben McDaniel tried to escape his grief by working in dangerous, war-torn places like Africa and the Middle East. Now he’s back in his hometown and face-to-face with Aubrey Wellington, the hot-as-hell woman who is trouble with a capital T. Family and friends insist she’s not the one to ease his pain, but Aubrey sparks an intense desire that gives Ben hope for the future.

Determined to right the wrongs of her past, Aubrey is working hard to make amends. But by far, the toughest challenge to her plan is sexy, brooding Ben – even though he has absolutely no idea what she’s done . . .

Can this unlikely couple defy the odds and win over the little town of Lucky Harbor?
