Review ~ Becalmed by Normandie Fischer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love books with cute kids, and this one was a winner. Jilly, the adorable little girl, stole my heart the moment she appeared in the book. This story is about Tadie, a girl hung up on the guy who got away, but when he comes back she realizes he’s a sleaze. It’s also about Will, a widower, with a wonderful little girl who doesn’t like women using his daughter to pick him up. So, everyone that looks at him for a moment too long is doing that and he doesn’t open himself up for love. Not to mention, he misses his wife.
Jilly and Tadie do hit it off and it’s natural and they have such a beautiful relationship. You must read to see how this plays out, but it’s a beautiful love story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the sailing elements in this book as much as I did in her other book, Sailing out of darkness. It’s a great story.
About the Author:
I write from on board our sailboat or from on shore in coastal NC — stories of women and families and the things that get to them.
I’m thrilled you loved Jilly. She’s my favorite character and was great fun to write. (May I say how fun it is to have your rating stars show up in Italian?)
๐ Thank you so much! It was my pleasure to read and review your lovely books! ๐
