How would it feel to know your whole life has been a lie? Just that you have been living a life in a psychological breakdown and thinking that was your normal–that it was you. Until you break through, then the real you comes out, but you remember nothing. This story is a journey, a revelation, and discovery for not only the heroine but the hero as well. Both have lived through pain and never knew how to handle it. One blocked it out completely and the other drowned it out.
I felt my heart break so many times while reading it for everyone involved, but especially Lucie. My heart broke for Grady who loved this cold-hearted woman but realized the new ,or really old, Lucie was who he loved as well.
I loved the story and the sensitive issues it touched on. I enjoyed the journey of getting back to oneself and to another (the one you loved). I would have loved it even more if there was more getting back to the ones you loved as well. The building of relationships could have been touched on more, but even if those weren’t, I needed more with Lucie building her relationship with Grady. It ended too open and I like it spelled out for me.
I do recommend this for anyone that enjoys a good story about love, amnesia, struggles, healing, and discovery.
