In My Mother’s Footsteps by Forbes Arnone

In this scene, Christian and Anela are back at her hotel after a night of salsa dancing. 

Anticipation and nervousness ran through me as I fumbled with the key to my hotel room. Christian wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder. The door flew open from our combined weight, and we scurried in, slamming it shut with our bodies. Our lips connected, and we took from each other as if we were the last drink of water in a desert.

Christian’s hand cupped my face.

“Anela,” he whispered into my mouth.

I hummed in question, not wanting to release his lips.
