Review ~ Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover

Slammed (Slammed, #1)Slammed by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Have I mentioned that most of the books I “read” are audiobooks. Yeah, it’s how I’ve been able to read as much as I have.

Anyway, Audible had a sale and I bought this book. I had no idea what I was getting, just that the summary sounded decent. What I got, though, was a great little story with so much content.

It’s a romance with so much more. I was swept up in the 18 year old girl’s life with all of her problems. These aren’t typical teenage problems, these are troubles that no 18 year old should ever have to face. While she’s dealing with these problems, she meets a boy that has similar problems. However, there are reasons beyond their control as to why they cannot be together. This big web of never ending junk just keeps piling on this poor girl.

On top of that, we get poetry, song titles, and get to go to a poetry slam. I like poetry, but this made me really like poetry. Even made me want to go to a poetry slam to check it out.

The author kept me interested, enthralled, and completely intrigued in the story and the lives of these incredible characters.

Thanks, Audible for the deal. Oh, and there are two books that follow. Can’t wait for more.
