I loved this book. I loved the characters. Jayden was my fantasy man, tough as steel but such a soft and caring heart. Handsome, tall, dark, and very handsome.
The story of a natural and very well behaved submissive, Catherine was abused by a cruel and wanna-be Dom. She was rescued when he died and ran to a safe place. She scored the best Dom as his replacement, but honestly she deserved him and so much more. Her new Dom, Jayden was a multi-sub Dom that never believed in anything other than the D/s relationship. However, he’s learning he can love … I think. 🙂 Maybe we’ll see that in the next book.
The relationship they created and the patience and care he extends to her helps heal her soul just a little bit every session. Until she’s done confessing every detail of abuse from her last … abuser!
The growth and trust and his caring heart just touched me. Every descriptive Hargrave used enabled me to picture every detail of the story.
Truly amazing and I can’t wait for the next one. 😉

I like your review very much and am looking forward to reading it myself.
And though it is a former fanfic, there were was much descriptive value the fanfic left out that we are now getting in the published version, namely, what happened to Catherine? The author only briefly touched on the previous abusive relationship which I was always curious about. So I am happy to see that was added as well as rounding the story out on a whole. There is so much debate about p2p and everyone has an opinion. And that’s fine. But I don’t agree in lumping these stories together. There are good and bad, just as there is good and bad OF. A story should stand on it’s merits. Read the descriptions, look at the reviews, decide if you are interested. I thing R,E Hargrave is an amazing writer and should be judged on her writing ability the same as any other up and coming new writer.
Sorry about highjacking your post, I was just so surprised to see so many panning the story without reading it based on the previous history. And I’ve read the fanfic version and will still read the published version.
You’re so correct. I don’t think I ever read the fanfic. And I love your point about the good and bad P2P. So many people want to hunt and burn everything that has been p2p’d instead of taking each one for what it is.
This story was done so well that if I didn’t know already I would have never known it was a fanfic. God, I’ve read a few books that were never fanfic and totally read as such.
I do hope others will read this and judge her on what she did with it. It really is a great story and I fell in love with it.
Thanks so much for your post credoroza. 🙂
I can’t wait to submerge myself in her words, they paint a beautiful picture that i have found myself get lost in, time and time again…
