Review ~ A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon

A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6)A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think by far this is my favorite book. There were so many heart pounding moments … Both good and bad.

There may be a bit of a spoiler next …

The absolute best part is when Claire is waiting and waiting and then she hears the drums and they start out far and rhythmic then they come closer and become un-choreographed. She hears the highland war cry and, cue the goosebumps, they’ve come for her. Just remember that part when you read the book. God, that part gave me goosebumps, a lump in my throat, and tears in my eyes. It was so exciting and touching.

In general, she has a way of evoking many emotions in her stories most of the time it’s frustration, but the sweet, romantic parts are so profound. Every plot, small or not, was significant. In some of the other books I thought there were plots we could have done without. But not in this book.

This book has so many roller coaster moments when sometimes I’m up and others I’m down. It was such a ride. However, the ending was quite frustrating … Need to start the next book so I can read about more trouble for the Fasers and Mackenzies. This book sure had lots of trouble, although, don’t they all.

I highly recommend this book!
